“The theory of economics does not furnish a body of settled conclusions immediately applicable to policy. It is a method rather than a doctrine, an apparatus of the mind, a technique of thinking which helps its possessor to draw correct conclusions.”

Teaching Philosophy
In my classes, I hope that through the study of economics, students will develop some skills fundamental to a good liberal arts education: critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration and social responsibility.

- Critical thinking: Students will use models in processing their thoughts, critically evaluate normative questions and understand multiple perspectives on those questions.
クリティカル・シンキング:ある経済政策問題を考える際、モデルをつかって分析し、それらの問題を複数の観点から論理的に考える。 - Problem solving: Students will use logical and analytical skills to apply models they have learned in new situations, in particular in thinking about contemporary real-world policy issues.

Students will effectively express and defend their own opinions through presentation, discussion and debate.

協力:プロジェクトに積極的に参加協力し 、また他人の貢献を正しく評価できる。 - Social Responsibility: Students will be able to describe how alternative policy choices affect various individuals and social groups.
社会的責任:経済政策が様々な社会的な集団にどのような影響を及ぼすかを意識する。
